Bio:
A rescuer in Corpus Christi found poor Emily scavenging for food behind a H-E-B. The rescuer brought Emily to Animal Control and that's where the truth was uncovered: Emily had been there before. Just a couple months prior, Emily had been adopted out through animal control at which time she was given a microchip. The microchip allowed Animal Control to contact the original adopter who notified them that Emily was no longer wanted. The happy and healthy dog that was adopted out was no more. Emaciated and suffering from mange and ringworm, Emily was passed over in the kennel by families looking for an healthier dog. Thanks to Eleventh Hour, Emily was rescued from the kennel and brought to a local veterinarian where her skin conditions could be addressed. The Gemma Rose Project, as well as other donors in Texas, contributed towards boarding and veterinary care for Emily until she is well enough to be moved to her foster home in Texas, and then eventually a new home in NJ. Emily is available for adoption and will be arriving in NJ in mid to late February.
